But the staff couldn't get their stories straight about that either. I'd hoped to check-in early and was willing to pay any fee associated to do so. This, despite being able to see the Trolley tracks from the hotel itself and with a road side sign at the end of the hotel's street which pointed out the station's location. I needed to find the nearest Trolley line station and the desk clerk didn't seem to know the Trolley even existed - let alone where the nearest station was. The hotel staff was unbelievably ignorant about their property and its surroundings. So, not only was it worn out it also showed how uncaring the hotel staff was about it as well. The bedding had cigarette burn through marks.

The roaches running across aren't a good sign either. Book your next stay here, you won’t be disappointed!!! Will definitely rebook at the Courtyard Marriott Gaslamp. let’s just say the kindness was not as generous. Was truly a great stay for a Marriott property, we last stayed at the US Grant and well. It was extremely generous and we are beyond grateful for this extension of our room stay. Especially considering tomorrow in the Gas Lamp district will be very busy. The valet staff was nothing short of exceptional! The best part, was we had requested a 4pm check out as our flight doesn’t depart until 8pm, and Corin was very generous to oblige.

Spill the Beans was awesome! And as promised not only did I receive a text message saying that our room was ready but he also called to let us know! By the time we got back to the hotel Corin was the new employee at the front desk and she was kind enough to include a buy one get one free offer for an alcohol beverage at the rooftop bar AND breakfast was included. Our room wasn’t ready, and after a long day of travel at first it was a bummer but hey point us in the direction of coffee and we’ll be good! Drake directed us to Spill the Beans and said he would be in touch when the room was ready. All in all, we had a great stay here, and will likely book here again on our next trip! I loved the openness of the large lobby and pool area, with glass roll-up doors in between so you can enjoy the beautiful outdoor area even from the inside on cooler days. We did not take advantage of the pool area or workout room, although both were available.

A full line of breakfast items, both hot and cold, were offered every day, and there is also a small 24-hour convenience area with snacks, toiletries, drinks, and a microwave. The room and bathroom was very nice with plenty of room to spread out and supplies well-stocked. Parking was a bit expensive, but customary and as expected for this area.

We witnessed him greeting other guests just as warmly and friendly. He was extremely helpful any time we had a question or request, and greeted us warmly every time he saw us. I can't say enough good things particularly about Reggie, the front desk manager. We stayed here when we traveled to SD for a grandchild's birthday, and from the moment we arrived to check-in to when we checked out several days later, the staff was very personable and attentive. Adding up its filthy rooms and indifferent staff? The place wound up costing me more than had I booked at a hotel with a higher room rate. I thought I was saving money by booking into this hotel. That the staff couldn't be bothered getting their stories straight was a pretty blatant failure and showed some deep indifference to doing their jobs.

Thus rendering useless any point of trying to check in early. The first person said I should call back the night before I wanted to check in and then, when I did that, I was told they couldn't tell if an early check-in was available until mid-morning the next day.
